EXHIBITION INFORMATION
The University of Oregon Department of Art presents the 2018 MFA thesis exhibition of Laura Butler Hughes, Stephen Milner, Natalie Wood and Alexander Wurts at Disjecta Contemporary Art Center in Portland, OR. Working across photography, painting, sculpture, installation and new media practices, their culminating work draws from deeply personal experiences that signal a complex contemplation of the present through the mediation of everyday encounters and activities.
The Department of Art’s interdisciplinary graduate program encourages students to work across disciplines through a three-year course of study that involves rigorous studio investigation, critical discourse, and conceptual development. Emphasis is placed on curriculum tailored to the needs of the individual student while encouraging exploration and risk-taking.
