Art & About has highlighted a cache of exhibitions and other art-focused events worldwide in the Pacific Northwest. Showcasing emerging and established artists, supporting alternative art spaces, and promoting local communities' work in Portland and further afield. We aim to connect with local artists, enthusiasts, and viewers alike. Through our relationships with you, we're a living archive. Founded in 2014.

Art & About is exclusively run, managed, and directed by its founder and Editor-in-Chief, Ashley Gifford.

Writing

We have been perpetuating discourse around contemporary art since we started. In 2018, our Artist Interview Series was launched with artists, curators, and cultural workers. Since then, we have been working to continue to provide thoughtful writing - reviews, interviews, and other writings - to create and encourage critical discourse.

Land Acknowledgement

We acknowledge that the land of the Portland Metro area rests on traditional village sites of the Multnomah, Wasco, Cowlitz, Kathlamet, Clackamas, Bands of Chinook, Tualatin, Siletz, Kalapuya, Molalla, and many other tribes who made their homes along the Columbia River.
