Fuller Rosen Gallery is pleased to announce Possessions, Possessions, a solo exhibition of twelve new paintings by Olivia Faith Harwood on view from January 29 - March 13, 2022. Join us for an in-person opening reception on Saturday, January 29 from 6-8 pm.
Harwood’s inaugural solo exhibition features a series of paintings reflecting on the burdens of adolescent dilemmas, shame and the deconstruction of identity. By referencing the occult and feminist horror tropes, Harwood conjures a supernatural world that is at once sinister and playful. Spiderwebs, snakes and strands of pearls haunt the dreamlike liminal spaces of Harwood’s canvases. Patterns—deeply embedded within the paintings—take inspiration from fabrics, game boards, clown outfits, wallpapers and album covers.
