Veronica presents tied to the moon, tide to the moon, an exhibition of new three-dimensional works by Stephanie Simek derived from an unenacted play she began writing in 2020. Accompanying the exhibition is a text by Charles Stobbs III.
Stephanie Simek has lived in the Pacific Northwest since 2007. Using a wide array of materials, she makes works in two dimensions, three dimensions, time, and sound. Projects have included a room-sized crystal radio, self-assembling keys, and an observatory tower in Corinth, Vermont. Simek has made exhibitions and had residencies at Signal Culture, Museum of Contemporary Craft, Melanie Flood Projects, PDX Contemporary, Littman Gallery at Portland State University, Feldman Gallery at Pacific Northwest College of Art, Fairbanks Gallery at Oregon State University, and Jacob Lawrence Gallery at University of Washington.
