Opening Reception: Saturday, August 6 (6 - 9pm)
Nathanael Moss creates work that draws influence from futurism, sci-fi architecture mixed with computer graphics and electronics synthesis. Moss’ work explores ideas related to the coexistence of simplicity and complexity in patterns that mutate structure within constraints and variables. His use of this visual language is an evolving dialect exploring visual architecture, space, depth, fantasy, free association, and iconography. Through repetition of decisions and movements, Moss' work investigates where the line between simplicity and complexity begins to blur. Nathanael Moss is originally from Ocean Springs, Mississippi and received his BFA from Rhode Island School of Design. Moss now lives and works in Portland, Oregon. FalseFront is an alternative art space and short-run publication studio in Portland, Oregon and housed in an unexpected neighborhood storefront providing a rotating program of regional and international contemporary artists with an exhibition space set apart from the accustomed gallery setting.
