Opening Artist Reception – Friday, Sept 1st 5-7pm

Interim Artist Reception – Thursday, Sept 14th 5-7pm

Hours: Everyday 10-6

A group of six women artists from the Portland area will be opening their exhibition "Montage" at Lolo Pass Gallery on Friday, September 1st from 5-7pm. The collective show will run through September 29th.

The artists share a common interest in the natural world, with each offering a distinctive response: some translate their impressions into patterns, while others create abstract compositions with figurative elements. Together, their work is graphic and contemporary. The artists believe that art is visual poetry that transcends discord and unites us in a common appreciation for beauty. They also want to draw attention to the transitory quality of the natural world and the importance of conservation. As a group, the collection presents a multi-dimensional conversation that is engaging and compelling.

Mediums used in the exhibition include encaustic, oil, acrylic, charcoal and mixed media. Participating artists: Shannon Amidon @shannonamidon, Lauren Carrera @artbycarrera, Liz Dexter @liz.dexter, Ruth Meijer @ruthmeijerpdx, Alexandria Oesch @alex.oesch.art, and Julie Rall @julierall

Both receptions are free and open to the public.
