EXHIBITION INFORMATION
Since the summer of 2017, Celeste Noche has been collecting the stories and experiences of creatives of color living in Portland, through the photographic blog series Portland in Color. The project is simple and honest in nature and yields vulnerable and empowering portraits of artists actively creating and organizing in a town deemed the whitest city in America.
Similarly, our mission at UNA Gallery has been to promote the visibility of our communities, highlight the diversity of great talent within them, and offer a platform for the conversation around the challenges and victories of being so underrepresented in Portland.
As UNA prepares to shift into our next chapter this March, we are proud to present a selection of portraits from Portland in Color. Additionally, the featured artists have been invited to share their talent through a series of events and workshops within the month.
