The Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art at PSU is bringing the popular Storytime outside this summer! Join us at the PSU Farmers Market for this free program with Portland-based artist Latoya Lovely.
Inspired by the upcoming exhibition "A Question of Hu: The Narrative Art of Hung Liu From the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation," Lovely will read books exploring Chinese art, culture, and identity. Our booklist includes “I am Golden,” “Eyes That Kiss in the Corners,” and “Pepper Zhang, Artist Extraordinaire,” among others. This program will also include songs with movement to get kids out of their seats!
Storytime will take place between 10:00 AM—12:00 PM on Saturday, July 22, August 12, and September 9, 2023. The booth will be located in the South Park Blocks between the Portland State University Library and Fariborz Maseeh Hall, near 1875 SW Park Ave. This program is geared towards pre-K through early elementary students. Children must be accompanied by a guardian throughout the event. This program is free and open to the public. ASL interpreting will be provided.
