The PAM is reopening!! They will have free days from Nov 20 through Nov 23, 2025, and you can and should, reserve tickets in advance! We’re looking forward to seeing the new space and exhibitions and installations. 👀 Pipilotti Rist's, 4th Floor to Mildness and Marco Brambilla, Maximalist Dreamscapes. The Cooley Gallery announced that Derek Franklin will be the new Director and Curator of the Douglas F. Cooley Memorial Art Gallery, stepping into the role that Stephanie Snyder recently left. 

PADA Partnership

We are collaborating with the Portland Art Dealer’s Association for the next several months to highlight their events. We’re fortunate that many of our Art & About gallery affiliated members are also PADA members (hint hint – consider becoming a member if you’re not) so this collaboration just makes sense. 🤝🏼 PADA has a Pop-Up at Building Five on Nov 23 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

The House of Art and Craft

Rainen Knecht and Lila Jarzombek started offering experimental craft classes in SE Portland earlier this year under The House of Art and Craft. We’ve been watching the creations that have been coming out of Rainen’s enamel class with elation and can’t wait to take one ourselves. Upcoming classes are Nov 9, 16, 23, and 30, usually from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

We have a soft spot for ceramics, so Storied Objects' new exhibition, You And Me, Bowl, by Rachel Green makes our list  Opening reception, Nov 14, from 5-7 p.m., up through Nov 24 in their beautiful, craft forward retail space, The line up of artists and the sneak peaks look fantastic for Maven Collective’s first group show. Opening reception, Nov 8, 4-8 p.m. up until Dec 28. We’ve been seeing so many friends share cori mccullough, same blue dream at the new to us, Mudd Palace, 1731 SE 10th Ave., needless to say we are intrigued. Opening reception Nov 13, 5-8 p.m.

Oregon Jewish Museum (OJMCHE)

Nov 5, 7-8:30 p.m., Oregon Jewish Voices 2025. This annual event features readings by prominent Oregon Jewish poets and writers. The writers in the 2025 program span a range of genres, including fiction, poetry, non-fiction, and essays, and will share selections from their work.

Nov 9, 2-4 p.m., Without End: Artist and Curator Talk with Cara Levine and Yaelle Amir. A discussion about Levine’s exhibition (Nov 9, 2025—May 31, 2026) and its themes of loss, memory, and healing.

Nov 12, 6 pm-7 p.m., Join artist Steve Marcus to learn more about his newest exhibition, Psychedelicatessen: A Powerful Dose of Art. Marcus will share about the inspiration behind his pop art practice and his unique approach to illustrating Jewish life.

Nov 16, 6-7:30 p.m., A Place of Our Own Book Talk with June Thomas, author of A Place of Our Own: Six Spaces That Shaped Queer Women’s Culture for a presentation on six iconic lesbian spaces over the course of the last sixty years, including the rural commune, the sex toy boutique, the vacation spot, and the feminist bookstore.
