BLUE, our latest exhibition from Sarah Horowitz, is a stunning collection of her recent ink drawings and woodcuts of plantlife. Using a variety of fibrous papers, some natural and some hand-dyed in blue hues, Horowitz's exacting lines in black, blue and white sumi ink (as well a Prussian blue printing ink in the case of her woodcuts), form delicate renderings of articulate, vertically-rising florae. Rather than choosing subjects in full flower, she gives us brilliantly-composed arrangements of hearty, reaching pine branches and seed heads, symbols of resilience and promised new growth after dormancy—apt symbols for our pandemic era.
Please join us for a live broadcast conversation with Sarah and Benny Fountain on Thursday, April 1 at 5:30pm via Facebook and YouTube, and get in touch to make a masked, socially distant viewing appointment, and for collecting opportunities.
