Reception Saturday, March 5th 5-7pm
Jordan Clark was born in 1983 in Dubuque, Iowa and raised in Madison, Wisconsin. In 2015, he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art with a concentration in painting from University of Wisconsin-Stout, in Menomonie, Wisconsin. In 2017 he received his MFA in Contemporary Art Practice from Portland State University. This body of work has come together over the past 2 years and is representative of Clark’s activity between work, commuting through the city and spending weekend time walking along railroad tracks and exploring overlooked places. Through recording and responding to these urban landscapes he is developing a language through the manipulation of paint and surface as a response to these experiences. Combining these activities of work inside and outside of the studio creates a new space of exploration. Clark currently resides in Portland, Oregon.
