fore x four

  • lumber room 419 Northwest 9th Avenue Portland, OR, 97209 United States (map)

Works from the Miller Meigs Collection curated in conversation with Diedrick Brackens, Sarah Miller Meigs, Ashley Stull Meyers and D’Angelo Lovell Williams.

fore x four is an exhibition exploring notions of steadiness and support. Guided by the metaphor of a four legged structure, fore x four is the result of a year long, multi-dimensional conversation between artists Diedrick Brackens, D’Angelo Lovell Williams, curator Ashley Stull Meyers, and collector Sarah Miller Meigs about collecting, living with art, what nourishes us as creative practitioners, and what provides inspiration in our daily lives. As a collection, the 16 works illustrate a complex mapping of generations of artists who each offer unique approaches to the sentiments of guardianship, responsibility, caretaking, guidance, and love.

fore x four has been organized as a carefully considered addendum to our Spring exhibition of new works by Brackens and Williams titled The Quick, curated by Stull Meyers.
