Tropical Contemporary currently has an artist relief grant, $PRING BREAK, open to transgender and gender-diverse artists in Oregon. This $500 grant is for emerging transgender/gender-diverse artists who live in the state of Oregon. Transformation residency alumni are not eligible.

These funds are coming from a portion set aside from a $65,000 grant from the Oregon Community Foundation we received to support transgender artists in Oregon, the majority of these funds were used to support our Transformation Residency program. We anticipate distributing at least four $PRING BREAK Artist Relief Grant awards.

We strongly encourage applications from BIPOC, those with nontraditional education paths, and disabled people . We will be holding particular preference for low-income artists who have not been supported in Tropical's programming in the past.

The deadline to apply is Friday, April 22nd, 2022. All awards will be distributed in early May.
