Artist Talk with Malia Jensen

Join the JSMA at PSU for a talk with Malia Jensen, an Oregon-based artist featured in "The Art of Food: From the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation." Jensen’s multimedia art practice focuses on natural cycles, the human form, and connections with nature. The artist will discuss works in the exhibition, including her project "Nearer Nature: Worth Your Salt." The talk will take place on Thursday, October 13 from 5:00 - 6:00 pm at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art at PSU.

This program is free and open to the public. ASL interpreting will be provided.

Malia Jensen lives and works in Portland, OR. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally at venues and institutions including the Melbourne International Arts Festival (Melbourne, Australia), Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design (Milwaukee, WI), Portland Art Museum (Portland, OR), Mesa Arts Center (Mesa, AZ), Marian Goodman Gallery (London, England), Richard Gray Gallery (Chicago, IL), and Cristin Tierney Gallery (New York, NY), among many others.

She has completed numerous public commissions in the Northwestern United States, and her work is held in many public and private collections.
